The Maui Comedy Festival resumes Thursday night with a double bill featuring Patton Oswalt and Beth Stelling. The intrusion of Tropical Storm Guillermo resulted in the cancellation of their scheduled August performance.

Described as the largest destination comedy festival in the Unites States, the three-day summer series attracts comedians from all over to perform in a variety of venues on the island. In the case of Oswald and Patton, it is the Castle Theater at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului.
Recently named standup comedian of the year at the 2015 Montreal Comedy Festival, Patton Oswalt is a Grammy-nominated comedian as well as an actor.
He has shot five comedy specials and had guest roles on a variety of popular television shows. Owalt’s performance at the festival marks his Maui debut. Stelling, who performed at last year’s inaugural Maui Comedy Festival, has appeared on Comedy Central and numerous late-night TV shows.
