Sept. 1, 2011 – The far-reaching impact of Hurricane Irene extended nearly 6,000 wiles west, from the East Coast of theUnited States, across the Pacific all the way toHawaii, where eastbound travelers found themselves stranded due to flight cancellations in the wake of the storm.

Anurag and Chitra Rochlani had checked out of their unit here at Sands for their return trip toNew Jerseywhen Irene struck the eastern seaboard. With their approval, we would like to share a nice letter we received from them shortly after they checked back in for an extended visit.

I just wanted to send a quick note to thank you for accommodating us for a continued stay at the Sands of Kahana after we were stranded in Maui due to Hurricane Irene. This was unexpected and extremely generous of you and Consolidated Resorts management. We are owners of a Consolidated Property ourselves and were very happy to see this level of customer service from the company.

“You have truly given us a taste of the Aloha spirit; your hospitality is much appreciated. We will be looking forward to a return here and will definitely be recommending your resorts to our friends and family.

Thanks,

Anurag & Chitra Rochlani

We’d like to thank the Rochlanis for their thoughtful note and return the favor with one of our own.

Dear Anurag and Chitra,

It was our pleasure to help you in your time of need, and we look forward to seeing you again on your next visit to Maui. It’s good to hear airlines have resumed service and people are making their way safely home.

Sincerely,

Sands of Kahana
